May 21-25, 2013 - Annapolis

We were anxious about our first mooring ball experience, but Annapolis was set up so well that it was a piece of cake.  We had heard that mooring ball 16 was the best, and as luck would have it, it was available.  We tied up to it with no problems and the harbormaster came right over.  He told us that the sailboat races would be right off our bow and that we would have an exciting time.  So, we invited several boats over for docktails and to enjoy the race.  We weren’t disappointed!

It was Commissioning Week at the Naval Academy so it was an exciting time to be in Annapolis.  The students walked about town in their dress whites escorting their families showing them the sites, and there are a lot of sights in Annapolis.  Many of them are pre-Revolutionary war, and it was such a thrill to walk in the footsteps of those from so long ago.
